When will the Evergy Plaza open?
Evergy Plaza is set to open in early 2020.
Where do we park when visiting the Evergy Plaza?
The City of Topeka currently has seven parking garages located throughout downtown. There is hourly parking at Crosby Place, Centre City, Townsite, 9th Street and Park N Shop garages. To view a map of parking garage locations, click here. In addition, metered parking exists through the Central Business District for on-street parking.
What types of events and activities will be available at the Evergy Plaza?
Possible programming includes: Splash pad, Synchronized Music Fountain, Ice Skating, 50-foot covered stage for performances, 30-foot digital monitor, Free Wi-Fi, Beer garden, Food trucks, Yoga classes, Church services, Farmers market, Car shows, Weddings, Festivals, and many more opportunities!
Does is cost to attend events at the Evergy Plaza?
All events are free unless there is a special ticketed event. Ice skating and skate rentals will require a small charge.
Who is building the Evergy Plaza?
The Downtown Topeka Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, owns the property and is the builder of the plaza.
Will there by food and drinks available at the Evergy Plaza?
Yes. Food will be available from an array of food trucks and area restaurants. The Plaza will have beverages available for purchase.
