Bring the whole family out to watch “Akeelah and the Bee.” The movie is an inspirational story featuring a young girl from South Los Angeles trying to make it to the National Spelling Bee.
Join Forge in giving back and supporting the YWCA’s Center for Safety and Empowerment! Please consider donating an item from their “wish list.” Bring your item(s) with you to watch “Akeelah and the Bee.”
Suggested items to choose from:
Hanes Women’s 6-Pack Cotton Underwear: need sizes S,M,L, XL, XXL
Sport bras: need sizes S,M,L, XL, XXL
Athletic Socks (low cut) – multipack
Flip Flops or slip on shoes (new)
Women’s leggings: sizes S,M,L, XL, XXL
Any disinfectant type products (e.g., bleach, Lysol/Clorox Wipes)
Trash bags
Standard-sized pillows and pillowcases (new or gently used)
Paper towels
Antibacterial Hand Soap Refill
Toilet paper
Kleenex
Rubbing Alcohol
Gift Cards (Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, Dillon’s, Office supply stores)
Topeka Transit Bus Tickets
Gas vouchers
Diapers, especially larger sizes
School supplies
Non-perishable food, especially items with protein
Kid’s snacks (fruit snacks, juice boxes, crackers, etc.)
Bottled water
